Getting Ready for 2015!
Yes, we've been steadily working behind the scenes this summer getting ready for an exciting new year of collaboration with our school partners and rolling out some new programmes, too. Keep checking back on this web site for more details as they are announced.
One thing we're really looking forward to in 2015 is the launch of our Student Advisory Board. This board will be made up of student representatives from each of our Adopt a Section partners. They will meet throughout the year and give input into our education programming. Student Advisory Board members will also be our programme ambassadors. These roles will be decided at the start of this school year. We can't wait to meet them, and to introduce you to them as well!
To get things started, we'll be taking the new Board members into the Park for a retreat weekend in February. It will be a chance for students from all of the different schools to get to know each other, as well as to start thinking about their roles this year. We'll even have our first Board meeting while we're in the Abel Tasman. Can you think of a more perfect place to meet? We can't!!!
Today we were out in the Park with Robin from CampEasy. He is going to help us set up camp for the retreat, providing tents and sleeping mats and cookers, to mention just a few things. Two noisy and curious kereru kept on eye on us while we were measuring and brainstorming where to pitch the tents, etc. Have a look at a few of the photos we took!
